> [!NOTE]
> This command's behavior varies in clustered Redis environments. See the [multi-key operations](https://redis.io/docs/latest/develop/using-commands/multi-key-operations) page for more information.

Computes the difference between the first and all successive input sorted sets
and stores the result in `destination`. The total number of input keys is
specified by `numkeys`.

Keys that do not exist are considered to be empty sets.

If `destination` already exists, it is overwritten.

## Required arguments

<details open><summary><code>destination</code></summary>

The key to store the resulting sorted set in.

</details>

<details open><summary><code>numkeys</code></summary>

The number of keys that follow.

</details>

<details open><summary><code>key [key ...]</code></summary>

One or more sorted-set keys. The difference is the members of the first set that are not present in any of the subsequent sets.

</details>

## Examples

redis> ZADD zset1 1 "one"
(integer) 1
redis> ZADD zset1 2 "two"
(integer) 1
redis> ZADD zset1 3 "three"
(integer) 1
redis> ZADD zset2 1 "one"
(integer) 1
redis> ZADD zset2 2 "two"
(integer) 1
redis> ZDIFFSTORE out 2 zset1 zset2
(integer) 1
redis> ZRANGE out 0 -1 WITHSCORES
1) "three"
2) "3"

## Return information

**RESP2:**

[Integer reply](../../develop/reference/protocol-spec#integers): the number of members in the resulting sorted set at _destination_.

**RESP3:**

[Integer reply](../../develop/reference/protocol-spec#integers): the number of members in the resulting sorted set at _destination_.
